The magazine surveyed a panel of food experts to compile rankings across dozens of categories, from cuisine types to specific dishes and dining experiences. The annual list includes everything from romantic ambiance to beer selections and pizza spots.

Thai Kit Restaurant, located at 222 Post Road in Fairfield, has built a following in the Gold Coast town. The restaurant can be reached at 203-955-1650.

September in Bangkok, at 754 State Street near Yale University, earned recognition in New Haven’s competitive dining scene. The restaurant, which can be contacted at 475-234-5239, operates near the university campus.

Mystic claimed two spots on the Thai restaurant list. Pink Basil operates at 27 Coogan Boulevard and can be reached at 860-245-4470. Bleu Ginger, located at 27 West Main Street, is available at 860-415-9317.

The magazine also highlighted 27 new restaurants across Connecticut in a separate category for establishments that opened recently.

Connecticut Magazine’s restaurant rankings cover American, Mexican, Chinese, Italian, Mediterranean and vegetarian cuisines, along with categories for appetizers, desserts, burgers and apizza. The publication has produced the annual dining guide for several years, drawing on input from food industry professionals and critics.

The four Thai restaurants span from Fairfield County’s commuter corridor to the college town atmosphere of New Haven and the shoreline tourist destination of Mystic.
